A CARVED SPINACH GREEN JADE LANTERN

The lantern is carved overall in low relief with a riverbank scene including a pine tree, mountains and clouds. The lantern fits into a round platform with balustrade aprons, supported on a separate base with stem, carved with Buddhist lions at play rising from a round platform base with similar openwork balustrade apron design.

CONDITION REPORT:
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
-The stone is an attractive, deep green tone.
-There are some minor fissures and inclusions, which are expected and inherent to the material.
-There is a minor loss to the tip of one rail of the top balustrade platform.
-The railings have a few short cracks and bruises to the sides and to the edges, with a few bruises on the stem as well.
-There is a horizontal crack to the lower balustrade platform, along with a short crack on the edge nearby.
-There is expected wear to the screw parts.
