Possibly Al-Andalus, Arabic Spain, 12th - 14th century
The spout cast in the shape of a lion standing on its four paws, with bulging almond-shaped eyes, straight ears and open mouth, the circular opening on the tummy connected to the mouth for the flowing of the water, the tail now missing, mounted on a wooden base, 13cm x 13.5cm excluding the base.
