A CHINESE BAMBOO CALLIGRAPHIC BRUSHPOT, BITONG

Carved in relief with a lady seated on a patterned mat beside her qin beneath a wutong tree and beside a large ornamental rock, the reverse with calligraphy and signed Yinyi Shanren, the base with three shallow feet, 15.6cm.
Provenance: from the collection of Dr John William Hawksley Grice OBE (1891–1976) and thence by descent.
