A CHINESE CANTON ENAMEL 'EUROPEAN SUBJECT' DISH Qing Dynasty, Qianlong Period 清乾隆 銅胎廣東畫琺瑯西洋人物圖盤 Painted to the central reserve with two European figures sat under the shade of a leafy tree, one of the figures clutching a baby, the scenery dotted with rockery and foliage before distant blue and pink mountains, the cavetto decorated with a band of undulating leafy stems issuing blossoms and four quatrefoil cartouches enclosing sprays of flowerheads and ripe fruits on a light-blue diaper ground, the reverse with bats flying amidst large unfurling peonies and foliage, the base painted with a mythical lion dog perched on the banks of a small woodland stream as the moon rises up above, 26.5cm diameter - PROVENANCE: From a private collection formed in the 1990s and early 2000s 來源： 私人收藏，於1990年代早期至千禧年代組成 - NOTE: A comparable dish, but with the main image mirrored, was sold at Rob Michiels Auctions, 6th October 2018, lot 369.Click here to share:Request a condition report
