A CHINESE CLOISONNÉ ENAMEL RUYI-SCEPTRE IN A JADE
The sceptre is decorated to the head, middle section, and end with three gilt bronze plaque decorated in relief with bats amongst clouds and two with shou characters. The plaques are inset into a cloisonné enamel ground decorated with the Eight Buddhist Emblems amongst scrolling flowers, and the reverse is decorated with shou characters and further scrolling lotus. The T-shaped box is inset with three pale celadon jade archaistic plaques, two carved with chilong, one with a taotie.The sceptre: 44.5 cm. long, 10 cm. wideThe box: 71 cm. long, 17 cm. wide, 13 cm. high
