A CHINESE COPPER RED-GLAZED VASE, YUHUCHUNPING Qing Dynasty, Daoguang mark and possibly of the period 或為清道光 紅釉玉壺春瓶 《大清道光年製》款 The pear-shaped vase potted with a bulbous body rising from a splayed foot to a slender waisted neck terminating in a flared rim, the exterior decorated with a rich copper-red glaze that thins to white around the rim, the base with a six-character Daoguang mark in underglaze-blue, together with a box, 30.5cm high (2) - NOTE: Compare this vase with two Daoguang-marked examples, the first included in the exhibition 'Imperial Porcelain of Late Qing from the Kwan Collection', The Chinese University of Hong Kong, 1983, and illustrated in the catalogue, pl. 83, and later in the Yangzhitang Collection, sold at Christie's Singapore, 30th March 1997, lot 323. The second vase is illustrated by J. Ayers in 'Chinese Ceramics from the Baur Collection', Geneva, 1999, p. 233, no. 337. A comparable vase, dated Daoguang mark and of the period, was sold at Christie's Hong Kong, 6th June 2023, lot 3336, and another in the same rooms, 1st December 2010, lot 2972.
