A CHINESE GOLD-SPLASHED BRONZE 'TWIN-FISH' VASE 18TH/19TH CENTURY Formed as two carp supported on their tail fins, their bellies touching, with details of their scales and fins engraved to their bodies, their agape mouths forming two openings, 32cm, 2.7kg. The image of two conjoined fish is one of the Eight Auspicious Buddhist Emblems, or Bajixiang. Cf. Sotheby's Hong Kong, 31st May 2018, lot 45 for a related bronze vase.
