A CHINESE IMPERIAL EDICT HANDSCROLL Qing Dynasty, Guangxu Period, dated to 1894 清光緒 1894年 世襲誥命文書 Written in ink in Chinese and Manchu on woven silk brocade, the edict describing the imperial promotion of Mr Lin Chung to the position of Officer of the Fourth Rank, title Chung Hin Tai Fu, and the promotion of Mrs Lin Tung Shi, Mrs Lin On Shi, and Mrs Lin Wong Shi to the position of Wives of an Officer of the Fourth Rank, as decreed by the Emperor Guangxu on account of their grandson's loyalty and filial piety, the handscroll accompanied by a translation document dated 'September, 15th 1894', approx. 270cm long, 31cm high (2)Click here to share:Request a condition report
