A CLOISONNE ENAMEL AND GILT BRONZE 'DUCK' CENSER AND COVER
MING DYNASTY, 17TH CENTURY

the bird perched on one leg on a lotus bud, the plumage brightly rendered in green, red, yellow, blue and white enamels
Height 29 cm, 11⅜ in.

Condition Report:
There are losses to several areas, including to the lower chest and the tail, some of which have been filled with white-coloured paste, some of which have partially flaked off. The edge of the box is slightly bent, and it is tightly fitted with the cover, hence unable to separate and examine the interiors.The left leg is loose. There are also some dent, wear and characteristic pitting throughout, as well as losses to the gilding.
