A CLOISONNE ENAMEL 'AUSPICIOUS FLOWERS' HEXAGONAL BOX AND COVER, LATE 18TH CENTURY TO EARLY 19TH CENTURY

China. Finely decorated in bright enamels with a central flowerhead enclosed in a stylized lotus blossom with lappet petals, surrounded by four lotus blossoms borne on leafy scrolling vines, the sides with fruiting peach and flowering prunus branches, all against a turquoise ground, the interiors and base enameled a deep blue, the rims gilt.

Provenance: British trade.
Condition: Good condition with minor wear and manufacturing irregularities including expected pitting. Small nicks, light scratches, minute dents, minor losses, old fills.
