A CLOISONNE ENAMEL 'TAOTIE' CENSER AND COVER

清 乾隆年制款 銅鎏金掐絲琺瑯饕餮紋方鼎
The vessel decorated with a taotie mask divided by a vertical flange below a pair of confronted kui dragons, the mouthrim supporting a pair of arched handles on the shorter sides, the base with a meander of lotus scrolls, all supported on four bladed legs of archaistic dragon-form; the cover surmounted with a finial in the form of a gilt bronze buddhist lion with paw resting on a brocade ball. The base inscribed with six character Qianlong mark. Qing Dynasty period.
