Provenance: William MacQuitty (1905-2004) acquired in China in the early 1970’s, and thence by family decent. William MacQuitty was born in Belfast. He attained employment with the Chartered Bank of India, Australia and China (known today as the Standard Chartered) in Shanghai, where he remained until the Japanese occupation. In 1939 he returned home to Ireland where he became a self-taught documentary maker.
