A COLLECTION OF THIRTEEN WALKING CANES, VARIOUS, LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY,

comprising: 1) French, circa 1910, reeded gold curved handle, hardwood shaft, metal ferrule, maker's mark AM, an axe between, circa 1910; 2) mushroom-shaped agate handle, ebony shaft, the gilt-metal mount engraved 'E.B from W.K 1915,' metal ferrule; 3) turned horn in imitation of bamboo, mushroom-shaped handle, narrow silver mount stamped 'MW sterling,' gilt-metal ferrule; 4) hardwood shaft, the tapering cylindrical silver grip with reeded decoration and inscribed 'C.B.H CONSTITUTIONAL CLUB,' metal ferrule, Jonathan Howell for Henry Howell & Co., London, 1900; 5) a malacca cane with metal ferrule, engraved nickel mount and chased silver mushroom-shaped grip, Walter Fisher for Robert Smith & Co., London, 1889; 6) a slender lacquered malacca with metal ferrule, narrow engine-turned mount and crook-shaped handle with gold inlaid AA in monogram; 7) a tapered horn with horn grip, metal ferrule; 8) a tapering shaft with carved horse-head and saddle handle. metal ferrule; 9) another, similar, horse-head handle; 10) rustic cane, the handle carved as a bulldog head, glass boot-button eyes; 11) a stout bamboo stick with smoothed root grip; 12) another bamboo with plastic ferrule, slender, the curved handle with silver tip, Charles Edward Farquhar Potter, London, 1914; 13) a varnished turned wood shaft, the detachable upper part in the form of a recorder (musical instrument), rubber ferrule; together with a slender wood yard ruler, metal tips and a bamboo swagger stick, metal grip ('TANGAYIKA POLICE') and ferrule, also a rectangular umbrella stand, brass and cast iron
