˜A COMPOSITE GERMAN IVORY-MOUNTED HUNTING SWORD, LATE 18TH/19TH CENTURY with curved single-edged blade etched and gilt on a blued panel (faded) over the lower portion with a figure beneath a canopy, a sun-in-splendour and a trophy-of-arms, the forte with Solingen 'extra fin' inscription, gilt brass hilt with down-turned shell decorated with the three fleur-de-lys within a wreath carried by a trophy-of-arms and carved ivory grip formed as a warrior head, in its leather-covered wooden scabbard with gilt-brass mounts comprising chape, locket and middle-band, the latter two each with a ring for suspension 52.7 cm; 20 3/4 in blade
