A CONTINENTAL PAINTED PORCELAIN PORTRAIT PLAQUE, POSSIBLY GERMAN, LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY, of oval form and with a nicely detailed portrait profile of a maiden beauty wearing a rich black velvet high collared cloak and a tightly wrapped white habit of a Christian order covering her head and neck above a crucifix, mounted on blue cloth matting within a parcel-gilt carved wood frame. 4" x 3 1/2"
Condition Report: Light surface wear left side and above the image otherwise good shape. The frame has had gilding touch-ups, losses, age cracks, and normal wear.
