A COPPER-INLAID GILT BRONZE WINE VESSEL, HU
Han Dynasty
The pear-shaped body encircled by three concentric raised ribs each inlaid in copper with archaistic geometric patterns, the shoulders flanked by a pair of taotie masks suspending loose rings, covered overall with a rich patina with splashes of gilt and some malachite encrustation, all below a chevron band inlaid with a copper sheet encircling the rim.
