A COPPER-LUSTRE POTTERY JUG Kashan, Iran, late 12th - early 13th century Of compressed globular shape, resting on a short splayed foot and rising to a tall flared neck, the decorative handle to the side in the shape of a lion, the body decorated with two concentric bands of copper-lustre vegetal scrollwork, the neck with a pseudo-calligraphic band, the interior painted in cobalt blue, 17cm high.
