The rectangular box lacquered in brown and carved through and infilled with coloured pigments with a scene on the cover depicting a scholar observing a large pierced rocky outcrop with attendants holding smaller scholar's rocks, the sides carved with floral patterns and antiques, set with metal handles on the side.
