A Cased 80-Bore Percussion Transitional Single-Action Six-Shot Revolver
Mid-19th Century
With blued octagonal sighted rifled barrel engraved around the muzzle and with scrolling foliage on the top flat, case-hardened cylinder with recessed nipples, border engraved action (nipple-shield with small area of pitting on one side) decorated with scrolling foliage within borders of guilloche and retaining traces of original blueing, trigger-guard, case-hardened bar-hammer and ovoidal butt-cap all en suite, the last with hinged circular butt-trap cover, chequered figured rounded butt, shield-shaped vacant silver escutcheon, and some original finish: in original mahogany case (lock replaced) fitted and lined in navy blue baize with some accessories including powder-flask with bag-shaped body embossed with overlapping leaves on each side and retaining some original finish, and steel combined bullet mould and rammer, the exterior of the lid with shaped vacant brass escutcheon, Birmingham proof marks
