With curved fullered single-edged blade struck with a circular defaced bladesmith's mark on one side at the forte, and characteristic silver hilt with beaked pommel and decorated overall with symmetrical designs of foliated arabesques against a ground of wrigglework, in original wooden scabbard covered in brown leather with locket, chape and suspension mounts en suite with the hilt, the suspension mounts each carrying a silver ring, the inside of the locket nielloed with stars and crescents, a ship's wheel motif between
