A Charles II oak chest of drawers, circa 1680, 90cm high, 90cm wide, 61xm deepCondition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions consistent with age and use,Cracks and splits especially to the sides,The surface has been varnished previously, this has worn unevenly leaving some areas the wood surface and other areas obscured by varnishThe locks to the lower drawers probably original, the lock to the top drawer appears to be later, there are no keys present, all drawers open at time of reportThe handles appear to be original, there is no obvious sign of another having been present, there are marks and scratches to the drawer fronts that appear to correspond with these handles, the inside of the drawer fronts also lacking obvious marks from other handles. The drawers are oak sided with grooves, they have pine floors - each of these has variously split and cracked, also some signs of woodworm to theseThe top with marks and stains, including the outline of a pair of scissors or nips Condition Report Disclaimer
