A Charles X Gilt Bronze Figural Mantel Clock
dial signed aine INDISTINCTLY, FIRST HALF 19TH CENTURY
the shaped case cast to show winged male and female figures flanking a lyre above the circular dial with Roman numeral hours, raised on a stepped rectangular base ending in flattened bun feet.
Height 18 1/2 inches.
Property of a Private Collector, Lake Forest, Illinois
Case in overall good condition without dents, loss or repair. Having a fairly bright, even patina but with some dirty areas. Silk suspension works appear complete with bell and pendulum, no key. Both springs take a wind but clock does not seem to run consistently. Clock releases to strike on the hour and the half but does not strike.
