A Chinese Cizhou vase
Of ovoid form, the gently rounded shoulder rising to a small neck with conical mouth decorated with two panels of freely painted reserves depicting, on one side an amusing hare, on another a large crane, and the third side a man reserved on a background of swirls, the sloping shoulders decorated with four flower heads, the foot ring is exposed revealing the reddish body. Period: Song/Jin Dynasty (960‑1234). Height: 17 cm.
