A Chinese Dark Green Mottled Jade 'Stylised Fish' Ritual Blade, 8CH

This elegantly shaped pendant is carved from dark green jade marked with prominent pale yellow mottling, modelled in the form of a curved stylised fish with a defined head fitted with suspension holes, additional circular perforations running along the upper spine, and incised linear patterns detailing the fins and body contours. The fish motif symbolises surplus abundance and continuous good fortune within traditional Chinese iconography. The jade has a deep forest green ground with irregular pale mineral mottling spread evenly across the surface, and soft aged patina resting within the incised grooves. The piece is worked with flowing incised carving following the natural curved silhouette, with smoothly polished raised surfaces and cleanly defined decorative lines throughout. Dimensions: 22 cm x 5.3 cm
