A Chinese Export black lacquer and gilt chinoiserie decorated cabinet on stand, first half 19th century, decorated throughout with traditional village scenes, the arched cabinet with a pair of panel doors opening to an arrangement of small drawers and pigeon holes around a pair of sliding pierced panel doors, the two tier stand with spirally turned supports, the lower tier with a pierced apron and shaped bracket feet, 140cm high, 51cm wide, 34cm deep Provenance: The Collection of Countess Veronica MunsterCondition Report: Marks, scratches, knocks and abrasions consistent with age and use. Overall of aged appearance.The cabinet lacquer exterior with a crackelure to varying degrees from raised and bowed cracks to smaller cracks. Less crackelure to the interior drawer fronts. Drawer interiors with split lacquerwork. The base generally with a finer crackelure. The back cracked along a construction join. Fading including to the top of the cabinet. The interior central sliding doors are slightly bowed so that they do not run smoothly or to the full extent. One outer door visibly bowed. One white metal door hinge mount detached.
