A Chinese Yellow-Ground Famille Rose ‘Medallion’ Dish
Of circular form, the shallow dish decorated in bright enamels with five roundels, each containing vases and auspicious objects, the central roundel differentiated by the presence of a white elephant, all reserved against a vibrant yellow ground further decorated with pink blooms and scrolls, a meander-pattern to the rim, the reverse decorated with three floral scrolls, the glazed base with the six-character mark of Guangxu in underglaze red. Diameter: 24.5 cm.
