A Chinese blue and white 'hunting' plate
Qing dynasty, Kangxi period, apocryphal Chenghua mark
Finely painted with a central scene of two archers on horseback hunting a hare, surrounded by interlocking lotus and the Eight Buddhist Symbols to the moulded cavetto beneath a floral rim, the exterior with upright lotus blooms and underglaze blue six-character mark in regular script within a double circle to the base, 20cm diameter.

Condition Report:
A few frits and tiny nibbles to rim, one firing crack to rim which has progressed into a hairline, and a further firing crack visible under the glaze to the rim.
