A Chinese blue and white porcelain beehive water coupe, mark of Xuande but late 19th century, painted with dragons and vapours, underglaze blue four-character mark to base, height 6cm, together with a Chinese blue and white export porcelain tankard, Qianlong period, painted with a river landscape, height 16.2cm (cracked and repaired handle). Provenance: from the estate of the Late Raymond Briggs, the world renowned author and illustrator of The Snowman, Father Christmas and Fungus The Bogeyman.
