A Chinese bombé-shaped bronze censer, with vertical loop handles and recessed base, on not belonging tripod base with spiral engravings. Censer marked Xuande, but 18th-19th century. Weight of censer 4670 g. Weight of base 2365 g. Diam. of censer rim 21 cm. Diam. of base 22.5 cm. (2)

Provenance: Director General of the Chinese Postal Service Erik Tollefsen (later named To Lo-sen) 1872–1938. He came to China in 1896 where he was in Customs but later became engaged in the Post Office Services and remained in China until 1932.
