Ming Dynasty, dated by inscription to the Dingchou year of the Wanli reign, corresponding to 1577
The figure wearing thickly-folded robes and resting his elbow in a stand on his lap, his hair swept up in a high chignon and surrounded by a short headdress, the reverse with long incised inscription, fitted wood stand, 27.7cm high.
