A Chinese flambé-glazed archaistic rectangular-section pear-shaped vase, fanghu
Qing dynasty, Qianlong seal mark and period
The sturdily potted vessel flanked with a pair of square tubular handles at the slender neck, covered overall in a rich red glazed striating to purple and blue at the edges, the base covered in a café-au-lait glaze above an incised six-character seal mark, 30.4cm high.

Condition Report:
Extensive overpainting to interior, particularly around the neck, up to the edge of the rim, and to the interior of the handles - extent of damage unclear, but it includes at least an infilled rim chip, and a possible rim hairline. There is also a reattached shallow glaze chip to the exterior edge of the rim, approx. 15mm wide. Please refer to the department for additional images.
