A Chinese full-tip rhinoceros horn libation cup
Qing dynasty, 19th century
Intricately carved with lotus pods and flowers, millet, and narcissus, the cup carved as a lotus leaf, on fitted carved hardwood stand carved as a gnarled trunk issuing fruiting branches, the horn 47cm high, 68cm high including stand.
Provenance: from the collection of Phillip Allen (1938-2022).
