A Chinese hardwood 'Dragon' box and cover, possibly Zitan wood, the flat top boldly carved in high relief with a ferocious five-clawed dragon, its horns emerging from a flame-like mane, the fierce face detailed with round bulging eyes, flaring nostrils and long curly whiskers, the scaly body coiling writhing amongst dense scrolling clouds, the sides similarly decorated, the interior in red lacquer, the base with apocryphal Qianlong six character mark highlighted in gilt, 24cm diameter x 9cm high, 1492 grams乾隆款龙纹盖盒（紫檀可能）
