A Chinese iron red ground 'butterfly' vase, 20th century.
Rounded body with a slender elongated neck with a flared mouth. Decorated to the exterior with scattered open-winged butterflies to iron red / orange ground, with a band of lotus scrolls and shou characters encircling the shoulder, all between a ruyi-head border at the mouth and a row of lappets above the straight foot. The base with a six-character Guangxu mark in iron-red, but later. Height 38.5 cm.
Crack to the base. Wear. Firing flaws.
