A Chinese jun ware saucer and a bowl

The saucer sturdily potted with shallow rounded sides rising from a short tapering foot to an everted rim, the interior covered overall with a milky sky-blue glaze thinning to a mushroom colour at the rim, and decorated with a large and vibrant purple splash, and underside with the glaze thinning towards the foot revealing the buff body, together with a celadon bowl with foliate rim, the interior with radiating panels, the glaze pooling greenish-blue at the mouth rim. Period: First object Song (960 - 1279) / Yuan (1279‑1368). Diameter: 11,5 cm and 18,5 cm.

‘Jun’ ware, the most spectacular of the major Song dynasty wares, with its type site the Juntai kilns in Yuzhou, Henan province, it was produced by many different manufactories in Henan, including the Ru kilns at Qingliangsi in Baofeng, probably from the end of the Northern Song period (960‑1127) until at least the Ming dynasty (1368‑1644).
