A Chinese painted pottery figure of a camel and rider, Tang dynasty 彩陶駱駝人俑 唐

The rider's face sensitively painted in flesh-colored pigment, hair and headdress painted in black, all emphasizing his expressive features, his tunic with white and green pigment widely open to his chest, the recumbent camel appears ready to raise, with his forelegs tucked under, hind legs close to rump, the head with animated expression. Accompanied by an original invoice from J. J. Lally & Co., and an original thermoluminescence test report and accompanying photo issued by the Research Laboratory for Archaeology and the History of Art, Oxford University, #566h70, dated August 13, 1990, stating the results are consistent with the suggested period of manufacture.
