After a painting by Gong Kai depicting a scene from one of the tales of Zhong Kui. Period: Probably 18th century. Dimensions: Length: 410 cm, Width: 36 cm.

In a wood box and embroidered textile cover.

Torsten Hammarström (1896-1965) was a Swedish diplomat. He was stationed 1947-1950 in Nanking and during the 1950’s in Peking as Swedish ambassador. Acquired at the time in China, thence by descent to the present owners.
