A Chinese porcelain globe jar decorated with white chrysanthemums and hibiscus flowers, leaves and foliage in grisaille and a flying magpie on turquoise ground- Autum. Inscribed “Eternal Prosperity and Enduring Spring” made for Empress Dowager - Dayazhai. Mark of Yong Qing Chang Chun. On a richly carved wooden stand. H. 28 cm. Dia. 40 cm. Wooden base 17 cm.

Provenance: Carl Alfred Jensen, 1886–1953. CAJ was engineer at Northern Telegraph Company and was posted in China 1911–1927, where he lived with his wife and two daughters. The family stayed at various places in China, but were mainly living in Tiensien.
