A Chinese red and black painted wood shrine, 20th century, of rectangular form with arcade separated into three arches each with carved gilded decorative work, the central arch housing two seated bearded figures in relief, flanked with two arches each housing a seated female figure in relief, each figure with richly adorned gilded garments and headpieces and seated atop simulated wood bases, the whole set into a red painted wood box frame, 34cm x 45.8cm x 6cm
Some light scratches and lifting of wood panels to the frame, a crack to the bottom edge of the central arch, further small cracks to the decorative carving throughout, general surface dirt and wear throughout.
