A Chinese soapstone figure of a seated luohan
Qing dynasty, 18th century
Finely carved with a smiling face, the body emaciated under the thickly-folded robes, the seated figure holding in his left hand a double-gourd flask issuing a coral sprig hanging a small coral double-gourd pendant with filigree and kingfisher feather leaves, his raised left hand adorned with a rosary of coral beads and his neck bedecked in a row of faux pearls, fitted hongmu stand, 9.5cm high without stand.

Condition Report:
Right hand is a later replacement, and the coral and faux pearls are a later addition. The figure is stuck to the stand so the base and the edge of the base has not been examined. A few scattered nibbles, especially to the folds of the clothes. Natural fissures and inclusions to stone. The head may have been off and restuck. Please refer to department for extra images.
