A Chinese tripod censer and stand. Qing 17th-18th century.

A Chinese tripod globe-shaped censer with squared handles and fitted bronze stand in the form of lotus leaves. Marked Xuande, but Qing 17th-18th century. Censer H. 13 cm. Weight 2416 g. Stand H. 4 cm. Diam. 12.5 cm. Weight 844 g.

Provenance: Descendants of Poul Laursen (1910–1983). He worked for the Great Nordic Telegraph Company and was posted to Shanghai from 1947–1951 with his wife Trine Laursen. After returning home to Denmark he was first deputy director, then executive director and eventually gained the title of managing director in matters of law.
