A Chinese yellow glazed 'dragon' dish
Qing dynasty, Daoguang mark and period
The deep dish with gently rounded sides rising from a short straight foot to a slightly everted rim, incised to the central roundel and the exterior with five-clawed dragons amidst scrolling ruyi clouds, covered overall in a pale yellow glaze, the base with a clear glaze showing the white body, with a six-character seal mark in underglaze blue, 17.5cm diameter, 4.5cm high.
Provenance: reputedly from the collection of the vendor’s step-grandfather, amassed in the South of England during the 1930s, and thence by descent.

Condition Report:
Generally in good condition. Tiny nibbles to foot rim, minor scratches to the glaze commensurate with age. Minor firing imperfections including iron spot, pitting and very fine crazing in glaze.
