with a slide drawer set in the lower case.

Condition Report: In overall fine and stable condition. The surface/finish is likely a 19th Century finish that has piled/puckered throughout creating a rough-to-the-touch surface texture. Appears to retain the original drop pendant, feet and knee returns. Splits to the sides of the upper case and other visible age cracks to back and bottom boards. Old scuffs, marks and scratches consistent with age and use. Pencil inscription visible to the underside of the slide drawer. The drawer pulls, while showing age, are replaced, including the upper shell-carved drawer. The pulls also show some traces of lacquer residue to their surface. Areas of rubbing to the lacquered finish and few small chip losses to edges throughout. Some of the lock mechanisms are retains, while a few a lost. A number of the drawer dividers have been replaced, in particular in the top section. The two front feet show evidence of having been previously detached and reglued. Old burn marks visible to the top of the bottom case and extending to the bottom of the top case. Some losses visible to the talons of the feet. One of the long drawers in the upper case has loose dovetails. The top left drawer has an old 1 x 1.5" chip that was reglued (prior to refinish). Secondary wood: white pine.
