Swansea City A.F.C. programmes featuring matches at the Vetch Field against opponents including Stoke City, Cambridge United, Shrewsbury, Reading, Arsenal, and Grimsby Town. Several issues feature the stylised swan crest and titles such as The Swan and Be Proud to be a Swan.
Cardiff City programmes for fixtures at Ninian Park, including a 1958 match against Sheffield Wednesday and 1970-1971 matches against Blackpool, Leicester City, and Brighton & Hove Albion.
A group of miscellaneous programmes including the 1974 Football Association Challenge Cup Final programme for Liverpool v Newcastle United at Wembley Stadium, a 1967 Wales v England international programme, and West Bromwich Albion News issues from 1969.
More Information
The programmes are in used vintage condition with wear consistent with age and attendance at matches. Visible defects include heavy foxing and surface staining to the 1958 Cardiff City programme (photo 5). Creasing and folding are evident across several covers, notably on the Swansea City v Stoke City and Reading issues (photo 8). The 1974 FA Cup Final programme shows edge wear and light creasing to the covers (photo 4). Rusted staples are visible on several older examples, causing minor staining to adjacent paper. Several programmes exhibit surface dirt, yellowing, and small nicks to the paper edges throughout the collection.
