A Collection of M1 Garand En Bloc Clips with Greek HXP M2 Ball Ammunition
A collection of steel en bloc clips loaded with rifle cartridges, designed for use with the M1 Garand rifle. The cartridges feature brass casings with copper-jacketed spitzer bullets. A visible annealing line is present on the neck and shoulder area of the brass cases, a standard result of military manufacturing processes to prevent brass brittleness. Each clip holds eight rounds of ammunition. The headstamp on the base of the cartridges is impressed with the letters H, X, and P in an arc at the top and the digits 7 and 3 at the bottom. This marking identifies the ammunition as manufactured by the Greek Powder and Cartridge Company (Hellenic Munitions) in 1973. The clips are constructed of dark, parkerized steel. The loaded clips stand 3 inches in height.
