A Collection of Pro Set and Futera Fans Selection Association Football Trading Cards.
A large collection of several hundred vintage association football trading cards, primarily dating from the early to mid-1990s and focusing on the English Premier League and Football League. The lot comprises multiple sets housed in plastic protective sleeves and loose stacks, with a significant concentration of cards relating to Aston Villa FC. The collection includes:
A group of Pro Set cards, primarily from the 1990-1991 and 1991-1992 seasons. The reverse of the cards features printed biographical information and the Pro Set logo alongside the Football Association Three Lions crest. Legible cards include No. 65 Peter Shilton (Derby County), Gary Megson (Manchester City), Ian Crook (Norwich City), Kevin Wilson (Chelsea), Steve Redmond (Manchester City), Kevin Moran (Blackburn Rovers), Steve Chettle (Nottingham Forest), and Ian Brightwell (Manchester City).
An extensive assortment of Futera Fans' Selection cards featuring Aston Villa FC players. These are organised into subsets including Heroes, The Squad, Dream Team, and Awesome Strikes. The cards are printed with gold and silver-effect borders and feature players such as Paul McGrath, Dwight Yorke, Stan Collymore, Gareth Southgate, and Mark Bosnich.
A selection of Upper Deck Manchester United cards including the Past Perfect subset featuring legends such as George Best, Denis Law, and Bobby Charlton, alongside Future Focus cards featuring Jesper Blomqvist and Quinton Fortune.
More Information
The collection is in overall Near Mint condition. The majority of cards are well-preserved within plastic sleeves, showing sharp corners and clean surfaces (photo 8). Some Pro Set cards exhibit minor whitening to the black-printed edges and corners (photo 2), which is characteristic of the card stock and age. The loose stacks show slightly more handling wear to the edges compared to the sleeved items (photo 11). Centring varies across the Pro Set series, with some cards showing a slight shift towards the left or right borders (photo 4). No creases or significant surface scratches are visible on the displayed cards.
