The bases of the pieces bear a printed multi-colour backstamp featuring a rose cluster and pink cursive script reading Old Country Roses above green capital letters reading ROYAL ALBERT / BONE CHINA / ENGLAND. Some pieces further include the green printed text © ROYAL ALBERT LTD 1962. The set includes:
A six-cup teapot with a domed lid and flame-shaped finial, featuring a globular body with moulded ribbing.
A two-tier cake stand joined by a gold-tone metal central spindle with a circular ring handle.
A large circular twin-handled bread and butter plate with a scalloped gold border.
A large open salad or serving bowl with a flared, fluted rim and a footed base.
A collection of dining and tea service pieces comprising eight Montrose-shaped footed teacups, eight matching saucers, eight side plates, and six dinner plates.
An assortment of serving and decorative accessories including a large cream jug, a small open sugar bowl, a rectangular sandwich tray, a leaf-shaped pickle dish, a decorative bell, a miniature floral basket with applied ceramic petals, and a lidded circular muffineer with a perforated top.
More Information
The collection is in excellent overall condition with vibrant floral transfers and bright, intact gilding throughout. A small brown kiln speck is visible on the underside of the teapot near the backstamp (photo 11). A tiny stray inclusion is present on the face of the large handled cake plate (photo 2). Minor shelf wear is visible to the unglazed foot rims of the larger plates (photo 9). The delicate applied petals on the miniature floral basket appear entirely intact with no visible losses (photo 4). No chips, cracks, or crazing are visible in the photographs.
