With body formed from a section of highly polished horn, brass basal mount and top chased with scenes of the chase between panels of repeated flower-heads, the former with foliage and rocailles inhabited by two birds on the bottom, the latter threaded and with dark horn nozzle-plunger (minor insect damage) acting against a spring in the tubular basal mount incorporating a graduated powder-measure and glass inspection windows, two suspension straps each chased with flowering foliage, and four rings for suspension (one missing)
