With slender tapering blade (areas of old pitting) of flattened hexagonal section etched on each side forward of the forte with a panel of strapwork, the forte etched and gilt on both sides 'Honi Soit Qui Mal = Y Pense' in an oval between foliated strapwork, hilt (gilding worn) cast and chased with reeding against finely punched grounds and comprising double shell-guard, quillon block, arms, scrolled rear quillon, knuckle-guard, globular pommel with button, and grip bound with gilt ribbon and varying types of twisted silver wire between Turk's heads
