A Continental bronzed metal bust of Ajax, after the Antique, late 19th century, the bearded subject portrayed looking to dexter and wearing a military helmet, mounted to a turned and ebonised wood socle, 32cm high overallCondition Report: The patina is distressed overall, showing areas of a golden hue (possibly remnants of previous gilding) and a coppery orange.The paint to the socle is slightly chipped, and there is an old split of circa 2cm to the rear.Minor casting inconsistencies to the helmet, specifically the rim.
